police funds problem

ok so here is my problem: in one of my cities police aren't working, they go on strike saying that the police in the city are badly spreaded.So what I have done? Built almost 30 police stations, all over the city, give the full budget to all police stations, and after a few seconds all security problems disappear but after maybe 5 minutes (in normal velocity of the game) the game starts to lower the funds for police and then the crimes come back, until police go on strike again...

Did you understand me? it's a cycle and i'm tired of it! I increase the police funds, I built new police stations, the crimes are controlled, then 2 minutes later the game automatically lower the police funds and the crimes come back, and police go on strike again. Then I increase the police funds again, the crime is controlled then 2 minutes later the game automatically reduce the funds and the crime...and so on... And I spent all time in this city increasing the police funds!!!!

I search in the forum and find a similar post, and I think there is something with the airports and the police that don't works well, and this city has an airport, but I can't find a solution for this...

Any ideas?

yeah, i dont know what to do, but i'm getting the same problem

I have the same problem. In the police funds, i have a police station with the name error name. I have destroy the police station, but the error name stay in the list.

I reached 500k city pop last night, then this fund problem happened. Lost 125k pop in 30 secs.
Anyway to fix this problem with the funds mysteriously setting itself to 0?

are you guys playing with the police station that came w/ simcity 4/RH? or is it a BAT/Lot? I use what came w/ the game. i used to have a problem w/ the funding setting to 0 but it was for a hospital i downloaded from stex.

also, try the curfew ordinance to lower crime and/or build more educational facilities in your city

I had this similar problem with my power budget.  I downloaded PEG's hydrodam.  Built a city.  Got hydrodam 2nd version.

Then when I went back to my city, the budget kept on falling.  I eventually had to go to a nieghbour connection.


so, whats the problem?

It happens with both types, the ones that come with the game and any Ive downloaded.
Tried deleting the stations, removed the downloaded ones from the plugin folder log back in and it still happens.

I am having this problem now my city has got to 206 thousand. I have not entered any new lots recently and suddenly I have a major crime spree on my hands and no one can get to school. Every month my school bus budget and my police budget go to zero, I cant understand why I have been building my city for the last 2 months and suddenly its just happened yesterday I dont want to have to delete the city as a lot of work has gone into it. It also to show off on my nation state forum as the capital city to my nation

• this problem is quite coomon with some bat civic buildings (can acctually happen to anyone of them that has a  adjustable monthly budget

• A: first known cause , a badly modded police station (or lot with police and or jail type abilities, yea,it could be a park or multi functional lot of some sort) where the radius is too large or the lot extends beyond the actually lot size, this cause the budget to shrink to 0 in 1 month or over several no mater how many times you reset it to max..have no idea why?????
• B: second known cause., opening a city that a custom made police station (same as above also applies) was present in the city when the city was saved and no longer in your plugins folder when you opened it (hopefuly you didn't save the city, or have a back up) as this one most of the time becomes permanent
• I'm sure there are other possible cause but them be the main two that i know of

A: solloution...find the lot (I suggest using the SC$tool program if you know how to use it) to scan any new lots you may have downloaded recently that deal with police coverage or jails... or use the in game query (the ? thingie) to find any now lots...delete the lot and save the city...this should return the game to normal ... this  doesn't always work...cross yuor fingers

B solloution : ok this one is a bit tricky and sometimes impossible to do..you have to find the lot identify it and place it your plugins folder... then reopen the citymand bulldoze the lot delete the lot (sometimes actually buldozing and reploying the lot, may have to actually surround the lot and then buldoze).... this one can be very difficult to do as ussually the saved city won't have  any info on the lot...so it's sort of guess work..:S

now doing these thing will not always save the city...I had to obliterate or delte more than a few cities for this reason...hope you fair better remeber to try and test lots in a sandbox region befor using to aviod these kinda things  hsppening,,,

I used to have this problem with cities that had a small police station lot that I got a couple of years ago.  I  fixed the problem by deleting all the police lots in the city, and saving and restarting the city.  Today I started getting the same problem, but all the police lots in the game had never given me a problem before.  Hopefully there is not some random lot that has police properties but doesn't show up on the game.

Back up and read Tolomar's post.  Unfortunately, indiscriminate use of untested plugin combinations is the most likely cause.  Plugins cannot be tested in every possible combination and environment.  The number of combinations of all mods and plugins taken all at a time is around factorial(4000).  This number is higher than the United States budget deficit by several orders of magnitude.  When would anyone find time to test all this?

If anyone found out which lots (whether they're Police or hospital or educayional lots), is it possible to share their knowledge by posting their name and ID right here, so that others like me, that have like 125 cities and 80 of those downloaded lots , would have an easier job finding these bad lots/BATYs.....Thanks.

Mrbisonm, I had a lot that was an elementary school that I dl'd way bac from the Maxis site that was causing all kinds of problems, including, I believe, this one. It had verbage in it that would also come up on other lots when queried that read something like "A prittier, better school with thrice the capacity". I deleted it, but I THINK I have a lot(?) file from that one saved in my throw away folder. If that's the one, the lot info number (if that's what it's called) is cc33223c. I hope that helps a little. Sorry I can't be more specific.

hm....thanks for the info DOXXP29, but the lotinfo number really doesn't help me much. Do you have the name of the lot or creator ?
