NAM button in game?

Hi, I installed NAM and its hotfix (newest version 30) and there is a button in the road menu named "NAM". What does this button do? Do you need to use it to get a certain functionality? Thanks.

if i remmber right it just shows you the version of the NAM

dzekins is correct. All it does is show you which controller version you're currently running. It's primarily intended as a tech support tool. The button's only intended to be hovered over--in actuality, it's a dummy button and clicking it will do nothing (more precisely, you'll get a "red arrow").
