Gorgeous park indeed.  Have I ever told you I like the realistic names you use? Just a detail, I just noticed that on your metro map. Doing great, as ever, keep it up!

Oh my! What a great response! Thank you very much!

Mattc005 - I note what you say about the stadium - unfortunately there is a space issue in Olympic Park and it was just a question of it being the only place I could fit it in! Thanks for the sign you made for me, and thanks for the useful remarks about my apalling grammar - I must do better Sir....3.gif

The Evil Octopus Man - thank you, the park took me some time to design and I'm pleased that folks seem to like it - if you all like it - then the evil vibes of Carmina Burana (from the Symphony Space) must please the residents of Norwich and that must be a good thing! Not much has changed downtown but we'll see what we can do.....

nooneatall - glad to see you back. A rival metropolis, eh? Now that's a thought isn't it Matt? (Sorry for the private joke, mattc005 and I have already exchanged thoughts about this) All in good time!!!

superstar - I was wondering if you'd gone off Norwich!!! 2.gif Thanks.

uncrazycooper13 - you'll find the stadium on the STEX - Olympic Tennis Stadium - part of jtportland's superb array of contributions on there! Thanks for visiting.

ChicAgo333 - the metro map also took me a while - mainly because I'm a newbie on MSPaint - thanks for the encouragement!

Dannato - thanx for the compliment about the names - I try to make them as British as possible and take much inspiration from London.

Thank you all so much once again.

Wow! I missed so many updates. I can't believe my eyes, Norwich looks fabulous. I like the Norwich Metro Map, looks very similar to the London underground map with the symbols and the river. keep up the good work.44.gif

wow, andrew george, your transportation systems are madness...and extremely realistic. giving me lot of ideas here 9.gif
and that park is great...i especially like the cactuses....er...cacti(?) in there. heh - i don't imagine there would be much skateboard trickery there - imagine running into one of THOSE.

Wow Zeddic - that's really good - I'm quite honoured that you'd spend some of your precious time doing that - my map does need a revamp which I'm planning - I just don't know whether to do it now or wait until more lines are complete - there will be several more which causes space constraints. 2.gif

Thanks Dark Avatar for revisiting - don't be gone so long! 44.gif

MrCinatit - feel free to use any ideas you wish - it'll make me proud! 43.gif Cacti - indeed - those pesky skateboarders would take more pricks than a dart board......

    Thanks again guys.

    Oh, don't know wich map is better - yours or Zeddic's :}

    Any way, your map shows connections to river ferries and Light Railway network - that's good :}

    So, great public transport improvement!

I like the map but maybe you could take a leaf out of London's book and try these rules
@ Stick to one angle (45?)
    @ Use a recognisable font.
@ Straighten out unwanted curves and joints.

I may make my own version of the map tonight 1.gif

Thanks for the comments marrast and dudyconstructor - Ginger - as I said the map needs tidying up a bit but there are many more lines to add to the network - so to spend too much time jazzing it up now would probably be fruitless. Also, what do you mean by recognisable font?

Maidenwell Welcomes Norwich Metro's Central Line

Hi everyone - just a very brief update to show you the Central Line's extension eastward into Maidenwell from Central Norwich.
But first of all I'd like to show you that the NLR now enters Central Norwich, at the expense of some hi tech industrial units.....

    32Maidenwell.jpg

Here the Central Line reaches beyond Trump Tower to Maidenwell City Hall, and slightly further to Maidenwell Station. This branch of the line terminates here as the planners wanted the line to take a
route through the Docklands to the south. Now playing on Radio Wave FM (in view) - The Offspring with The End Of The Line.....

    33Maidenwell.jpg

Corporation Wharf - with it's instantly recognisable M.C. Highways Corporation building and the red livery of it's brand new Metro Station.....

    34Maidenwell.jpg

Blackwater Park & Ride - where the Central Line terminates.....

    35Maidenwell.jpg

New Metro Map - unfortunately the extension has caused the map to be larger than 800x600 - so I'm going to try thumbnail hotlink. I hope this works. I have improved the map in that I've tidied and straightened diagonal lines and added a few more symbols. Index is still the same size.

EDIT - fixed now! Thanks nooneatall!!!!! Duckie for you.... 40.gif

EDIT: Check your PM's, I sent one with correct source.

Thanks for the help nooneatall and kind comment Dark Avatar.

Well now everyone I just thought I'd show you the NLR in Central Norwich for the first time! Existing buildings have limited the extent of the extension of the network.....

    35CentralNorwich.jpg

And yesterday's fixtures in the qualifying round of the Norwich Cup. The two drawn games are to be replayed on Tuesday 26th. The league table is also posted as league action returns next weekend!

Aaaah! You posted as I was! If I'd been a bit slower I could've killed two birds with one stone. Anyways, very nice of you to say so and I'm glad the new Metro Map is winning approval too.

By a recognisable font I mean somthing such as Aerial or TNR which could be used in all publicity. Such as London Underground has Johnston
