  1. 1. How many of you have friends that play SimCity and/or plan on playing multiplayer?

I voted for soloplay but i will test out to play with random people.

It would be interesting to see how different age groups receive the whole multiplayer aspect and how old an average SC4 player is.

I may try it once. But, I can see things getting out of hand with people purposly doing dumb things to create havic in your city if your city is dependant on your neighbors industry, power, jobs, housing, or whatever it may be.

The only workaround I see is letting users host their games and create "rooms" for others to join. They could either keep their game private (invite only) or open for anyone to join. Maxis may have already covered this so please disregard this sentence then.

This is an excellent way to prove EA's statement that "always online" is not a piracy measure. If they allow us to host our own game on our own server with our own "global economy", then we know that EA is telling the truth.

However, if they do not allow this, then we know that the "global economy" is an excuse.

Erm.... no. This would DESTROY the global economy. Data can be spoofed. If they allowed private hosting almost anyone can alter the network data. Only making 500 coal? Spoof the data packed to 50,000! The solution would be to make the global economy read only for private servers. Even then it destroys the basic idea that we are all on this planet together. We don't get to put our states and countries on private planets.

I think multiple planets might be an idea for the future, but for now I'm happy with one SimEarth.

I think it would be very interesting to try the multi-player mode of SimCity... since I don't have or know of any of my friends who play, I would have to take whomever the game neighbored me with, but I still think this would be very interesting.

Either way, multi-player or solo, I am eagerly awaiting the release date!
