hey, im having this issue where the streets don't light up. all the buildings light up and there are street lights in the streets.

and ideas?

^You don't have to show pictures of every part of your city for your CJ. You could place power plants and other facilities off to the side and not take pictures of them, or you could surround them with trees and/or taller buildings to hide them.

You could just make the power plants look realistic so you don't have to hide them (unless you're doing some kind of rural CJ, in which case I'd recommend downloading a rural style power generator and using that).

^Or you could use power lines (not the maxis ones of course). There are many available, but I'm not sure if they actually work or if they are just eye candy. Even if they are just eye candy, they might be a handy thing to have.
