Plopped Houses going Abandoned!

    Hello everyone.

I've downloaded a lot of ploppable houses and also using ones with the 'buildingplop' cheat. However when I place them, after a short while they all go that ugly abandoned colour and I can't seem to resolve it. Is their a workaround to this or perhaps a abandon-disabling cheat which prevents it?

    Thank you in advance!

    Welcome to Simtropolis

There's no workaround for it. Residential plops will abandon immediately unless some very specific conditions are met:

1.) You must plop them on a residential zone

2.) The zone must be of the same level as your houses you are plopping (the lowest wealth level if just houses. You can't plop a medium growth building on a low growth zone though.

3.) Something must have already grown in its place. Plopping things anew pretty much guarantees it abandoning.

Also, even if you manage to get them to work, you won't have any commuters. Just FYI.

    Have fun.

Yep, that's the truth from Yoshiisland. :D

Also make sure you have enough of jobs in the are these things abandon quick, so do not only plop a bunch of residential buildings with out have a good amount of job of course. :D

I'd back what is already said in this thread except for point 2 of Yoshiisland's post...i never experienced it's validity in game.

So, all you need is 1) a residential zone 2)where something has already grown (very important!) and 3) a decent amount of jobs to support your buildings.
