Looks great 44.gif Just one question - I don't understand what is that 'painting-like' object on the wall of the first floar (between doors)?

    Erdmoebel,

I've had a bit of a problem with your Hotel Kudaemmerung. It continues to grow not on the corner lot, but in the middle of the street... and my impression is/was that it was supposed to be oriented on the corner... Can you help me out with this? Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks!

What kind of WW2 buildings would you like to see? There are many possibillities: FLAK Bunkers, the Bendlerblock (the former seat of the Wehrmacht) as well as several other buildings the NAZI regime built and still exist. Tell me what

I like your buildings a lot. It's too bad that Maxis lumped all European design into some modern feel. Obviously, there's so much more. Fortunately, from talented BATters like you, people have access to many new alternatives. Thanks!!

    How funny is this!!!9.gif

Just 3 weeks ago I was in Berlin with my lover. We dined in the oranienburgerstrasse right opposite of this cultural center. The front facade is quite pretty though sadly delapidated. at night they project movies on the blind facade on the other end of the clearing wich is used as an alternative sculpture garden.

And the neo-gothic red building is indeed close to the gendarmenmarkt. if you stand in front of the hilton and face the german dom it is on your left hand side one block behind the schauspielhaus from Schinkel. does that giive you a clear picture? I forgot the street name. 15.gif

If you are going to do WW2 related bats, could you do the great synagogue in the oranienburgerstrasse? I have no pic of it at hand, but you know wich one I mean. with the copper/guilded dome. 42.gif

BTW how is the Anhalter bahnhof coming along?

Indeed. it is a very pretty building. but not easy.30.gif

concerning the dome decorations. Perhaps frogface could be of any help. he made de dome des invalides, and the brighton pavilion. two buildings with elaborately decorated domes. perhaps you could P.M. him.

I'd wish that I could be of any assistance, but I can't even grasp the basics of BAT. 8.gif

Making the dome would not be that tricky I guess. I would have done like this:

Make a plain cylinder segment - 1/20th of a whole or whatever the exact numbers of repetitions of this golden pattern is.
Decorate the rounded surface with one repetition of the pattern. Make a block of the whole thing.
Use polar array to make 19 more of those - now you have a nicely decorated cylinder. Make a new giant block of those 20 blocks you already got.
Now just use some taper modifiers to make a nice onion-like shape out of the cylinder.
    YOU ARE DONE :-)

Just keep in mind to make the cylinder (heighthwise) and all the parts of the decoration polygon-rich enough to be tapered nicely!

And btw. Erdmoebel, I think You could use those red textures of mine in the textures thread for that little nice neo-gothic/venezian office building.

The detail in your BATs is excellent! I just have one other comment to make though: the colours in the textures are very saturated... in general I think this inhibits them from really blending in with SC4's more muted colours. But this is your style, so I wouldn't ask you to change.

I really, really like it. It's turned out very nice. The retexturing looks more refined and cohesive, too. The Ephraipalais looks to be a nice challenge and it's beautiful. That would be my vote...then, the 'neogothic' offices, then Charlottenpalais.
