No cities after save!

Recently I've had to re-install SC4 to get the night lighting to work again on buildings downloaded off this website, I still haven't been able to get it to work after the re-install but that is the least of my problems now.

Before re-installing the game I made sure that I saved my SC4 folder located in my documents to save all me cities. After re-installing and re applying my cities in a fresh install of SC4 I only have about half of what I originally had despite having EACH AND EVERY save file.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Any solutions?

A few things that might cause the problem:

1) Did you played in one of the standard regions? The re-installation might have over-written your cities.

2) Mabye the cities aren't really gone, just hidden away in the "Downloads" folder you can find in the "Import"-window. Check for the missing cities the "Downloads"-folder with the "City Import" function in region view. Maybe they are not lost, just not in the right place...

Something else...

Are the missing cities in regions that you downloaded or are they in the game's default regions? If default, did you remove the newly installed regions and replace them with the saved ones. Or did you copy/paste - whaich sometimes can scramble the files.

Also, did you actually enter the "missing" cities? Sometimes the region view image gets disrupted.

And, since you re-installed, don't forget to get the game patches (if using a CD version).
