so as a die-hard GTA fan I was fanboyed to it and never dared to lay my hands on any other such themed game.

Now that I'm more of a sandbox gamer who loves open worlds and free decision making, I had to get to play Saints Row sooner or later.

I recently got my hands on Saints Row The Third without ever playing any other SR title, and immediately fell in love with it's over the top crazy and humorous gameplay so it was no big choice for me to at least start to play Saints Row 2 aswell (sadly not the first title as it is eck-bock exclusive and I just can't stand this thing) and must say, it gave me sort of what GTA failed to do since GTA4, good laughs and crazy stuff to do.

anyway, I really came to love this 2 games for afore mentioned craziness and wonder now who else is playing either title of the series and if so, what you like and dislike about it?

Saints row 3 was good, i enjoyed the side missions, but things got too repetitive, they also made you play for 30 hours to get the platinum.

But other then that, it was fun.

Septic Avenger in Saint's Row 2. Most fun you can possibly have in a truck full of sewage.

haha yeah thats right... just the sort of crazyness I love about the game. Or all the Mr Genki stuff in SR3.

guess I should say, just after starting up SR3 for the first time, I was like hell yeah lets rob a bank by tearing out the vault with a helicopter. next mission running down a military installation with just one mate... and the game kept the pace till the grande finale.

As I asked for the likes and dislikes and I think I should answer my own question aswell :D

What I also like is the car customization features as well as the selection of vehicles. And I like how you can take over the city by buying all sorts of stores and run down enemy gangs.

I feel like this game goes down GTA San Andreas' lane but push it to the max and, in terms of crazyness, even further.

    What I don't like:

bad clipping (e.g. objects that stick through your car for miles)

the realism of car sounds (well, sort of. as sounds themselves, they are way better than those in GTA4 - a v8 sounds like a v8 and not like an electric razor on steriods as they do in GTA4 - but the way the sounds are presented. in SR3, it feels like the cars have 3 low gears and then 3000 high gears. a little better was SR2 but here it was like every car has 2 or 3 gears)

and for SR3 the smaller scale in terms of gameplay, but only when compared to SR2 that is.

I'd rather bump this than creating a new one...

    anyone played SR4 already?

I got my hands on it yesterday and I must say it's just so much more over the top than SR3 was already.

especially love the super powers :thumb:

I'm running and jumping all over Steelport :bunny:

I haven't played any SR (yet). Anyway, is there any storyline in the game? I've heard it is all about fun(which is good).

    of course there's a story ;)

like with everything SR it's a bit over the top in every title, but yes there is a story.

35 hours in. It's okay. I switched off superpowers once I finished the game so I can start low punch everyone properly, especially with the rocket launcher. :D

It's similar to SRTT but got a different feel to it.
