problem concerning custom music

My custom music doesn't show up in the game. i have placed the mp3s i wanna listen to in the folder radio>mayor/region> etc. I also have ticked the box "custom music" and put all the game's music to off. the files are regular mp3s but i hear nothing :s any suggestions?

Does the game's default music play when set to 'On'?

The Music option still needs to be set "On" even for Custom Music to play. If you don't want the default music to play, you need to de-select the songs in the list that you don't want.

Also, are you sure you placed the files in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Radio\Stations\(Mayor or Region)\Music folder? The files need to be directly in the Music folder, not in a subfolder.

When trying various music files in the game, I have found that the files' properties do need to be in a certain range for the game to play the files. For example, if I remember correctly, the Bit Rate had to be 128kbs or above.
