Demand glitch?

You probably saw my 3.2 million city, I tried getting it higher and did, but then my demand falls all the way to the bottom for all of the demands after 3.6 million even though I only used residential and commercial. Any help would be useful except for unuseful help.

You probably saw my 3.2 million city, I tried getting it higher and did, but then my demand falls all the way to the bottom for all of the demands after 3.6 million even though I only used residential and commercial. Any help would be useful except for unuseful help.

Several things to check:

- If you are making a good profit, are your taxes too high? Lower taxes encourage demand.

- Mature cities sometimes go into the doldrums. This may have a number of causes. Check your desirability displays, and your jobs and population graph. On this one, also check your population by age. If it is skewed to the right, your population is dying out.

- with that much population, are you out of land?

- Are there any trouble indicators on the dashboard (public opinion) indicators?

- The bar for i-Ag should be at zero. If it is not, you have a problem of some kind, perhaps with a plugin that messes with the basic algorithms for example the CAM, or a demand ordinance mod. Ignoring brown boxes, rename your plugins folder and open the game to see if the demand returns without your plugins.

- check the demand in an adjacent city. It should reflect your real demand even if it is empty. Just get it into mayor mode.

- check your ratio of Sims to Jobs. Easiest way is when you select the city to run. The opening panel gives you your counts. R should be about twice C + I.
