I think I remember hearing about a city with 4,000,000 people in it.

Right, but unlike a sing city tile, region sizes are limitless. 10 Million in one city is the highest known record. :bunny:

Oh yeah. Impressing for a single city-tile  Wonder what he could've done if he had made a fully region plan :P

Yawn. Not a laudable goal. Reproducing downtown Calcutta is not my idea of play. It is something rather frantic, and I no longer goal high populations. After something like ten years of play, that is kind of old hat. What I want is a sustainable city with lots of green space and profit. I don't care about maximizing the population, which is not what the program is set up to do. The program is concerned mostly with transportation.

I wonder what happens when you build a region with such high densities. Since the game is mostly focussed on transportation a lot of cities may collapse because of high commute times which causes a lot of abandonment. I think that because of this reason it is almost impossible to make regions with extremely high densities. The fact that RiCHBoyZ managed to build a single city with a population of 10 million is extraordinary.
