It seems whenever I try to start SC4 B.A.T. this comes up. First my problem was GMAXLOC not found but now this problem. Does anybody know a solution for this problem.

Did you activate gmax by calling it and getting a registration number?

I didn't call them over the phone but I did register an account then get the number from there. So, yes it is activated.

And gmax came up, you set the graphic option to ? and then you got the full display with the four quadrants and the controls.

Now, did you install SimCity 4 in the expected default location at

    C:\program files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe

and is your user suite at

    C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4?

That message you posted is rather strange. It looks like there is something wrong with the file structure somewhere.

Nevermind, I fixed that issue. I had to run with administrator. But now it says: No plug-in directory was found:3DSMAX

Do I have to get 3DSMAX because I thought that program was like $4,000 dollars...

No. If it doesn't run, I would be tempted to reinstall:

    • gmax, and reactivate it, and make sure it runs
    • BAT

You are welcome. Possibly you installed the BAT before gmax?

^ Consider it a lesson learned. All prerequisites must be in place before the thing that expects to use them. This applies to plugins as well. You can't successfully call any program/plugin unless all dependencies are present. In the one case you crash, in the other you get brown boxes.
