Will an abandoned property ever come back or should I just demolish it? It says it's abandoned because of a long commute. Since plopping it I put bus stops close by as well a subway system.

There is a bug in Sim City that if you plop a residential building it will auto-abandon after a few ingame days

If it is not a plopped building, it may be restored after some months of play. You can accelerate this by painting the building with god mode trees (I don't know why, but it works).

Thanx for the input guys, actually it's Big John's Mine, not a Maxis property. I just plopped it and then added the railroad and all the other stuff I mentioned. I guess by the time I did it, the property timed out for lack of transportation :(

It went a long time without coming back to life so I blew it up and replaced it with another one.

Mayor mode trees work as well. So do mass transit stations, or any civic building, for that matter. The reason for this is that they all temporarily increase the aura of the nearby area.

There is a trick to laying down such a thing. After you place it, put the game in pause while you service it.

I believe that is a Pegasus lot, and might need water, or power, or both.

^ Very likely. Peg's lots time out rather quickly when not serviced. Rather impatient of him. I use a lot of his stuff and the pause button.
