Piece of info: Lake Michigan isn't a lake in and of itself. Lake Michigan and Lake Huron are technically two pieces of the same lake, since they are continuous of each other. All the other great lakes are seperated by sections of river, and are at different elevations. Michigan and Huron are of the same elevation, and are connected by the Mackinack Strait. It's all one lake there. So while Lake Michigan doesn't touch Canada, Lake Huron does, so lake Michigan/Huron does, and there are thus technically no great lakes that don't touch Canada.

But Lake Michigan is the answer you're looking for.

Duke87 - Thanks for that piece of information. Although the two lakes are connected by the Mackinack Strait, what is considered Lake Michigan does not touch with Canada. The reason why I wouldn't accept Lake Huron as an answer would be because that lake touches Canada. Although the two lakes are connected together, the two lakes remain different.

    The answer to that:

...we don't know for sure. The US only takes a Census every 10 years, so the most recent accurate figure would be from the Year 2000, which is 8,008,000. After that, one can only estimate. And since estimates vary, there can't be any one right answer for 2002. For the future, if you want to ask for a population, ask for the 2000 population, for which there is a single right answer.

To answer the questions about the turkeys... California in fact is the number one state in the country for raising turkeys. Your Thanksgiving turkey is probably a Californian! 18.gif
