Hello everybody, I am quite new to the SimCity community and I really want to start being involved or to start being active in the community, may I ask to anyone who has suggestions for me to take and to other newcomers as well, I'm tired of watching the STEX all day, there's just this urge to really get in, you know to be a part of the community. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

Hi there and welcome to the community. I think the best idea would be to take part in discussions. If you can contribute something to a debate or offer a new way of looking at something then pitch in - there's nothing wrong with offering an opinion on something. The vast majority of Simtropolis users are friendly (I would say polite but I think that might be pushing it ;) ).

Hello Jchan, welcome to Simtropolis.

There's a few way to 'get involved' here. You can contribute to forum discussions as has been said here. If you understand the game mechanics, and computers etc., you may be quite a bit of help around the SimCity 4 General Discussion and Bugs & Technical Issues subforums.

If you want to showcase your work in SimCity, you can post pictures in the many 'Show Us Your...!' threads in the City Building Concepts subforum. There's also a 'classic' City Journal section with a subforum and a new one, which is displayed at the top of every page on ST.

There's also actively contributing to the STEX. Lot editing older gems is a much needed niche to be filled. The learning curve for it is not as tough as the Building Architecture Tool. There are many folks from professional architectural backgrounds and the like who have written very formal tutorials, but it will take quite a bit of dedication. Also allow me to inform you, that because of the quality of crafstmanship by our top modelers, there's only so much toleration for 'trying' in the community. You will be expected to listen, learn, and improve. Practice does not make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect. Good luck.
