How to Navigate the STEX?

It has been many months since I've browsed through Simtropolis' STEX. So when I returned I was a bit confused as to what had happened to the site I was formerly familiar with. I understand the format of the STEX has changed since last time I was here, and I have looked through FAQ's and certain STEX7 threads for the answer, but I still have a singular question:

How do you navigate this thing?

I remember the old menu system used to have BATs and LOTs listed by categories usually involving the BAT/LOT purpose, such as 'parks and recreation' and 'industrial.' If I wanted to see all the options for commercial buildings for example, I would simply navigate that specific category, and easily have a list of all the commercial buildings added to the STEX. In this current manifestation of the STEX, the only thing I can see that I can use to help me find classifications of BAT/LOTs is the search function. So far, the search function has been very unhelpful. I can attempt searches like 'air filters,' 'water filters,' 'pollution processors,' 'commercial buildings,' and the results will vary wildly in level of success.

Is there something I'm missing here? Am I remembering the wrong SimCity site? Or is the search option the only way left to us to attempt to browse by category?

You can use the "Most Recent, Most Popular, Highest Rated, and Most Reviewed" Filters to help narrow down what you search. You can also find categories on the left hand side (before you search) with options like "BAT" , "Lot" and "Map". Other than that, I believe "search" is the only way to find files on the STEX.

Sorry but I don't think you can search by specific kind (C$, electric, etc.) anymore. If you can then, well, it's a well hidden secret because I haven't found it yet.
