That is beyond horrible; beyond sick and twisted... And the fact that they're doing this to small, helpless children.

This furthers my belief that the world is seriously messed up.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

In Africa happens strange things, like thelepathic violators and other things of that way. But, this... pass the line of insanity.

38 in 6 years, Looks like this Awali guy could be responsible for most of them.

Stupidity Should Always be Painful

the only thing that helps me maintain my slender grip on reality is the friendship I share with my collection of singing potatoes.

I'd like to think it's just one crazy guy. A nut case trying to bring back an old tradition that should have remained history and not current day.

What is wrong with people?

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

It is incredulous to think that in this day and age that such outrages can take place!

.... but we have the power to change it, now that we know it is happening... Bravo to Chris Rogers for having the strength to investigate and bring this story to our attention. (Criminals hate scrutiny!)

Shocking but not surprising in equatorial Africa. Child sacrifice has a long ugly tradition. While there is no confirming archeology, I think, the Bible cites the Philistines hurling newborns into the fires of Dagon. And whether Abram actually brought Isaac home is a good question. In any case, sacrifice of living beings is disgusting and messy. Even the sacrifice of the mass is not exactly a Christian ritual, and this kind of commemoration is pushing it when it comes to ethical behavior.

Someone raised the idea that this might be a single serial killer, and if this is so I hope they catch him soon. The ritual murders in African cults are generally disgusting and killing to appease the god of wealth should bring a severe punishment on those who commission such things. Maybe these fools can be hung with a gold rope. They certainly deserve the punishment of King Midas.
