Well this is my region, my biggest project:size 24x 24 Large cities

Current Population 8 594 956 inhabitants

Population Goal 100 000 000 inhabitants

and of course a close up of my region. This picture is from far north of the region near my airport

and this is my biggest airport a large city in size.

How did you get a region so massive in size compared to like timbukto? Did you have any say in the tile size for cities? What mods and things did you use to create your airport?

Larna Main urban area. 27 million people.

CVA Airport, 8 runways all of them longer than mandatory 2.5 km , 540 gates, 10 terminals. separation of runways mandatory 250 meters.

I actually used simcity4 mapper creating about the maximum size of region you can make there, which is 99 small cities in length. And my region is 96 small cities in size. Additionally the whole region was made with large city titles

and most of mountains and coastlines were imported from other files in simtropolis. Which when the region is done I will give credit to the people who created those files

and for the airport I used almost everyfile I found, when looking for airports in simtropolis exchange

Actually the first picture is the whole region from a picture of Simcity4 Startup Manager

and the second picture is from simcity4 album which I took while I was in the region

I don´t know how many, But I think that around 40 would be ok.

you are doing well making a region that big. i once had a 100x100 region, but the game was unstable and i had to get rid of it

the biggest region i have seen is dusktrooper's old one that was around 150 Million people.
