Fellow Simtropolis Newb Saying Hello

Hello everyone,

I'm Charles, from Salina, Kansas in the United States. I'm a divorced 46 year old with entirely too much time on my hands. I work in a factory building buses and hate it with an undescribable passion. Gotta pay the bills somehow though, so ..... Former construction worker (overhead fire sprinkler system technician). Basically a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none, kind of guy. Done the higher education thing too .... real life got in the way (always seem to be bills that have to get paid), lost my financial aid before I could complete my dual associates program in Computer Engineering Technology and Electronic Engineering Technology. Makes me a decent shade-tree computer mechanic now.

Outside interests include, poker, skydiving, auto racing, firearms, pool, observing the female form from a safe distance, american football, ice hockey, and consuming alcololic beverages. As far as gaming goes, I'm rather seasonal ... have been into most genres at one time or another, but the old stand bys of simulations and strategy games always seem to draw me back in.

Have been lurking the forums for about the last month, checking out game play tips and advice, necessary downloads to get the deluxe box up to speed, and just checking out all of the custom content that is available here and on other sites. Gotta give kudos to all of the staff here as well as the community here in general for making Simtropolis the site that it is. Seems to be a very friendly and helpful place with an awesome group of people that share a common interest in making the most of an aging game that seems to have been forgotten by the software developers. Looking forward to spending some time here and seeing what happens.

First of all, Hello, and welcome to Simtroplis! My name's Charles too; well, technically it's Evan, but I prefer my middle name, Charles. I love your description of yourself. "observing the female form from a distance." There is indeed a lot of great custom content on Sintropolis, and lots of helpful advice on the forums. Check 'em out for info, and some fun.
