I've decided, when I get my new computer soon, I plan to use lot editor for my lots, but I've decided, I want to create some houses like these, 13222 Mallard Landing Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States and I want to make sure they look like they will fit in with Simgoober's Colonial, Katie, and all of that. And I plan to make a lot of 1X2 and 2X2 lots. But I need some help before I create a BAT thread announcing this months to come, I need to know somethings. First of all I need to get lot editor and after that, what programs should I use to make these houses and not have to make them HD? I just want to know what are good programs for making lots and BAT's and how to export, how to get everything set up, how to make files, I just need some help. I might release a BAT thread releasing my plans and some help could be posted up there too. Thanks, :thumb:

Try to keep only one thread open unless required...start by checking the omnibus, and bat Mega FAQ. The minimum you need is GMAX, the BAT, the LE and the Plugins manager (I don't remember but these last two may come included with the BAT). Some people use 3dsMax as it is a more complete tool for 3d modelling, others go for Sketchup for it is simplicity (simplicity that comes with limitations I have to say). However you going to need gmax no matter what. Then check the tutorials here in the ombnibus, in the mega FAQ got to sc4 devotion and search for Simfox tutorial, and remember there is a LOT on information on 3d modelling on the web that is not directly related for sC4 but really useful. I believe learning how to use the snap tool and to do poly modelling its a must!

Don't forget to visit my BAT thread amigos!

And when you pick up gmax from Turbo Squid, don't miss the help files and the other segments. A little run though the gmax tutorial on how to make an animated mace is well worth the time as it gives you some good exercise. Then walk through the BAT Essentials tutorial which really covers the bases, and pay special attention to the thngs like night-lighting windows naming and textures, and the LODS.
