SC4M files - any other way to use them

Is there any other way I can make use of SC4M files other that using SC4 Mapper/Terraformer? I've got all these SC4M map files that'd I'd love to be able to use, but I've got Windows 7 and I've wasted an entire day trying every solution I can find here to no avail and I'm not going to waste any more.

Sorry if I'm asking for a bit too much detail but is it a problem with the program itself or not being able to get the file to run in the program?

Check the "readme" for the DirectX 9 files you need to run the program. That may be all you need.

I got it working now. I think it the problem was with the dll files, I had put them both in Windows/System32 like everything says to, but for some reason I think it wasn't finding them, or the ones I had were corrupt some way or another. The other day though I reinstalled windows 7, like i had been meaning to for several months, and though hell let's try the sc4m program again JIC. I put in the dll files and it worked this time, no idea why. Weird.
