Unable to play cities XL

I've recently bought Cities XL and have been unable to play it because it won't connect to the server.

Is there a way to by pass this problem so I can play the game?

Hm, you probably own the CXL vanilla (2009)..... check out the technical forum, there should be a link to a patch that solves this problem. Still, you should know that the online component of the game doesn't exist anymore; and you won't have access to a number of features (like the bus system). This is fixed in the newer version of the game, CXL 2011, which is entirely Single player and requires no Internet connection (after activation).
