i just recently started playing again, i have several questions. first im using a MAC and have noticed that after DL some new files it started to crash. next, ive downloaded some files with the needed dependencies, but i still get the boxes. also whats the best way to organize your files in the plug ins?

Not having a Mac, I couldn't say if everything that is available will work nice on a Mac, but in general, most downloads do require SimCity 4 Deluxe or Rush Hour. You might check out this post for more information on running the game on a Mac. Also, not all downloads will work with each other, and some do have special setup procedures that need to be followed to function correctly. It is usually a good idea to install plugins one at a time and check them out in the game. This will make it easier to see what will work and what won't. It might help if we knew what specific downloads are giving you trouble.

Again, knowing what version of the game you have and what you're installing will allow us to give more specific assistance. For starters, some downloads do require the two blgprop files that can be found here.

That would probably depend on what is easiest for you. The game will recognize folders within folders, so you don't need to have all those loose files scrambled up in the Plugins folder. Having a system of organizing those subfolders will definitely help keep track of what is installed and make things easier to find when necessary. Some players may organize things by creator, where others by function (industrial, commercial, seaports, farms, military, etc.). And still others use some combination of methods. I, personally, organize mine by "Theme" since I use dedicated regions for specific types of communities. Within each theme, I then use folders for each creator material used in that theme.

thanks, i am using SC4 RH, its hard to say what files i am having the trouble with off the top of my head, i think a few were the GLR stations patch (NAM). on the organizing, knowing that i can add them into folders really helps. what i did was removed all my plug ins and will re add one by one and organize them either by theme or type. thanks again for your support it did help

If you mean this one, you won't need it unless you have downloaded some older GLR stations - newer ones don't need it.
