Hi guys,

I got trouble with commute time.

My city's population near to 400.000. I divided my city to 2 parts with sea. First I build one side than other side.

I have lots of transportation systems in the city like subway, bus stops, highways, roads etc.. First times my commute time was between 90-110 but now I did something to fix it and it gained stability with 70mins.

systematically, I build commercial zones to the center of the city and residential zones to north-south part of the city.

Here are some pics that show both of side.

this is the first side that I build. after than I began to build the north side to expand the population.

here is the north side;

if you have any suggestions, tell me

thanks

Could you upload a picture of your zones? It would help.

Nice city. Is there more than one crossover connection besides the bridge? Subways?

You could add some (at least one pair) of car/passenger ferries, which are the fasted transport.

The commute time graph is unreliable at best; it is recommended that you ignore it. Instead, use the Route Query Tool and the traffic data views to make sure that your Sims' commutes are proceeding properly.

    Generally speaking, cities are not separated in a pure commercial zone and a pure residential zone. There are often residential zones within the commercial zone, and I wish it were possible to have residential as part of the taller commercial buildings. Many commercial buildings often have at least a penthouse residence.

    Try adding a high-priced residential zone to your downtown.

    And don't forget that residential zones often have strip plazas.
