My LHD copy of SC4 Deluxe... is now RHD...?!?!?!

Right do I installed the LHD version of SC4 deluxe aaaageeees ago. I last installed NAM and RHW stuff at the last update (and I've double checked that is all LHD). For some reason my traffic has now decided that it wants to drive on the right hand side of the road... and there is no obvious reason why.

Has anyone else encountered this before?

Here's a list of relevant mods (although this problem occured long after these were installed)

NAM (18th August 2011) (LHD)

RHW (18th August 2011) (LHD)

SFBT Euro Road Textures 3.6 (LHD texures installed)

DEX RT BuS Stop Pack - EURO LHD

If someone can help me solve this I would be highly grateful as this is messing up a lot of my cities road networks.

NAM and RHW by themselves won't switch drive sides. Incorrect installation could cause lane confusion and affect game function.

If you're sure you have a left-hand game and installed them correctly, there should be a folder named z_Left Hand Plugin in the Network Addon Mod folder and one named z_Left Hand Version Plugin in the Network Addon Mod/Real Highway Mod folder if you used the default installation. There should also be a file named zzz6_LEFT_HAND_VERSIONS_ONLY_Additional_NAM_Euro_Textures in the z_Euro Road Textures Mod folder located in the Plugins.

You might also check to see if you have a folder named UKEnglsh folder in your C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe folder to confirm you have a left hand game.

You might also post an image of your traffic with the DrawPath cheat turned on to give a snapshot of the situation. Sometimes that helps.

@CaptCity: Yes I thought that too, I've checked everything to make sure and yes the Simcity folder has the UKEnglish folder and the NAM/RHW stuff have the correct plugins. It's strange as it just happened out of the blue, I may just have to re-install but it'll be a right royal pain if I do.

Is the folder named UKEnglish or UKEnglsh? It should be the latter - the missing "i" is not a typo. Also, have you ever reconfigured your files and registry to switch drive sides? And one more question, when you installed the mods you mentioned in your fist post, did you use the default installation paths or choose other directions. The "z" in front of the folder names will permit proper load order. Any changes could cause problems.

Before you re-install, you might remove all the above mentioned plugins from your Plugins folder and see if things return to normal. If so, it's not the game but the plugins causing the problem.

Okay I've solved the problem, for some reason the registry was pointing to the us folder not the UK folder; absolutely no idea why considering as I've never touched this before now and had to just read a tutorial on how to change it back...

Very strange, I've owned this copy of sc4 for a few years now and never had this problem before.

Although I would highly recommend backing up before making any changes to the registry, and even then I personally wouldn't play with it unless I were likely to be reinstalling the game anyway. ;-)

That's why I was asking. That's how the drive side is determined - not through NAM and its addons.

That is strange. I've never heard of the registry being switched by itself like that. Also, I was curious... Am I understanding correctly that your game has both an English and a UKEnglsh folder? I wasn't aware that there were games shipped with both. Might be good to know...
