How to save in another folder besides My Documents?

Could anyone tell me how to save Regions in a different folder & location other than C:\Users\myname\My Documents\SimCity 4\Regions in Windows 7? I would prefer not to clutter my C: drive with stuff other than operating system files and drivers, etc. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, where would you like to save the files?

I am looking to save my Regions to the D: drive, where I have the game installed: D:\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Regions

If I can't save to that exact location, then I can save to any other folder I create on that drive. The most important thing is I don't want to save Regions on the C: drive.

This is actually quite easy to do. Assuming that you already have a specific location in mind you can set this as a plugin folder by doing this.

First, Copy the file location / target.

Now right click the SimCity 4 icon and select properties.

In the target bar add -userdir:

Now paste the target location and save the folder properties.

You should have something like this:

    C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -UserDir :"Z:\SimCity 4 Compressed\"

You can the load plugins from that folder. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, that did not seem to work. This is how my game shortcut looks after modification: "D:\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -UserDir: "D:\SimCity4 Saved\"

After creating a new Region, it is still being saved under My Documents on the C: drive in its usual location. Is there something wrong with the format of my shortcut? Or is there something else I need to do first?
