It is probably time for him to creep off into his mansion and die quietly. Poor Steve hasn't been well for several years, and probably finds his CEO duties beyond onerous now.

As far as I've heard on the news, he's only resigned as a CEO, but he'll keep being part of Apple's board of directors.

He released an open letter to the board and anyone else interrested:

....I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

So yeah, you are correct!

Yeah apple's stock is just going to fall through the roof without Steve Jobs. He's basically Apples main PR guy. He gave apple such a distinct image which set them up quite nicely for good results in each quarter. Basically, without this guy Apple is probably going to be done for.

I'm not suggesting that Apple can't expect to see good results in the future, its just that its overvalued stock is probably going to start meeting reality quite soon. Anyway, not sure if anyone paid much attention but apple's stock fell a nice 7 points in after hour trading. 21.gif

Well if it is falling through the roof, it is on anti-gravity. With Apple, nothing surprises me.

The North American markets have been open now for 3 minutes. Which exchange recorded this drop?

UK markets.

Probably only an adjustment. When it bottoms, it would be a good buy.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. Steve Jobs was the advertisement for the iStuff and it worked as a charm. In my personal case, I tend to watch on YouTube his presentations even though I can't afford the presented products (I own a second generation nano which still works) but this man makes you want, makes you love the iStuff. When the presentation is over, I need his product. Don't know how it happens, but it happens. I don't buy it just because I can't afford it, but I want it.

This is why I believe that Apple won't be the same without him in the lead.
