Train Automata

Just wondering if it is possible to change the in-game train sounds with

a different set of sounds, not including steam-engine noise, because I've seen that changed around before.

If it is possible let me know how?

It's actually not that hard; I replaced the el train sounds with the subway train's, since I was tired of it sounding like someone breathing on a microphone.

If you have ilive reader, you look up "SFX Occupant Instance Sound" in the exemplar of the train car or engine you want to modify, and then paste in a different sound ID. The best way to go about this is to look through Simcity-1.dat and look at the automata files. There are tutorials on this site that go into more detail about using ilive reader and modding, which explain this concept better than I can.

If you're talking about custom sounds, I assume it's possible to add them, but I haven't experimented with this. An actual modder would have more to say in that area.
