Can You DL More City Styles?

Can you have more than just the Chicago, New York styles etc. If so do you download them here?

No, this is a game code limitation. However, there were some attempts to change the contents of the four tile-sets in-game, but due to the large amount of work involved, no such mod is released today...

Ohhhh. I saw the link. It would be great if it could be done. But actually when I download modded buildings a lot of them grow and kind of change the style anyway. I didn't know it was a deep code thing.

What some have done is created their BATS to only grow in certain styles. It's kinda changing the styles but that's up to the creator not the player.

And now for something completely different. You could try SimMars but this mod will change your game entirely to an imaginary Mars. Be sure you have a complete backup before you start this. In fact, if possible, put it in a second instance (a different account) on your machine. If you installed the game as Administrator, all you have to do is give permission for the new account to execute the game and open it in a new user account. The game will set up the default directories, then you can add the SimMars plugins.

With this set up, you should be able to run either by logging in to the appropriate account.

Please note: this is why you never, ever put any plugins in the game's Program Files directory. How many of us have thought of setting it up this way?

Since I recommended using a separate account for a new version, I tried it. Works fine.

I'm having a bit trouble with my CPU right now so I havent been able to officially get it in. But right now I'm in no rush because I'm currently in the midst of trying to complete a region--without mods, cheats or anything else. Only mod I have is the NAM. After this feat I will go crazy and customize a region of my own.

There is a plugin on the Stex https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/files/file/16393-block-all-maxis-buildings-by-dusktrooper/ that prevents Maxis buidlings from growing. So basically you can make your own city style by downloading the bats you would like and only having these growing.
