Has anyone uploaded the "perfect" plugins folder

Hi,

I just wondered If anyone has ever uploaded a nicely organised plugns folder containing all the major add ons etc in working order?

For noobs like me it seems like a nice solution, so you could just extract it to you plugins folder like a big patch. I'm sure some of you long time players will have refined a nice plugin folder containing all the basics, would it not be possible to share it in that form?

If such a thing exists please let me know :D

Thanks

Ben

Sharing of Plugins folders is generally frowned upon by the community, as it is viewed as being essentially tantamount to distributing content without permission of its creator(s).

Additionally, choice of Plugins is a very personal thing, generally. Very few people who have accumulated a massive amount of content have the same items. The process of putting together one's Plugin set should be an enjoyable and creative task. There's gigs of content around--find what you like and don't be afraid to experiment.

    Thanks for the reply

I have found myself experimenting for days now and not always with decent results.

Is there or can you provide a list of the core recommended files that you need that will improve the transit systems and add new buildings etc that work so I can at least have a basis to start from

I found myself installing all sorts of things and now I feel like reinstalling

Maybe im lazy but having spent a couple of days literally reading and installing im beginning to get frustrated

    :D

    your help is appreciated

The only thing necessary is the Network Addon Mod (NAM), as it fixes quite a lot of bugs and adds new tools. Different people would recommend different stuff, for instance I'd recommend the Industry Quadrupler and Radius Doubler mods, but other people wouldn't find these necessary.

After that though it really is a matter of personal preference. For instance, if yo were an airport geek, you would download all of the RMIP sets and ACB Terminals. Of course if you aren't then there's no point. If you don't like the colour of the Maxis water, then you could download a mod to change that. Want to go build your cities on Mars? Simmars is for you. If not then don't download it.

In short, your plugins folder is what you make of it and what you want it to be.

    Fair enough,

I guess I will have to do things one at a time and keep restarting sim city until I am happy, an ongoing process

    Thank you anyway

In addition to the NAM, you might check out this list as a starting point. Most of the listed items are some of the more popular mods for the game. Some simply add some realism while others make the game more "playable." Just a thought...
