Trafic On Wrong Site Of Road

Hi Simtropolis

I been having a problem with my SC4 +RH for a long time but never really bothered with it before

Trafic signals etc are set for RHD but the traffic runs on the LHD

is there a way to make the traffic drive on the RHD (i would like to do it that way as some of the files still on STEX and other good sites are support for RHD only

the game is almost a basic install atm as i have has to reinstall it and as such need to start my collection again so willing to try differant things if the community has then to offer

What do you mean with "start my collection again"? Your plugins? But on the other hand you say that you have a basic install... or do you mean your cities? These won't be deleted when you uninstall.

Have you installed the NAM? Many people fail to read the accompanying documentation thoroughly and end up installing the RHD option over a game that works on LHD.

What country version is your game, anyway? Can you choose languages when you install? For example, the English-language US edition will typically use RHD, whereas the European edition will switch to LHD when set to English (UK).

Reinstall of windows so game is very basic atm lost all my plugins etc so fun trying to get all the stuff again

Yes i use nam and i install LHD but i want to convert to RHD

base SC4 is UK but i think my RH CD is US (Ebay) all i have the the CD now as i have lost the case etc so not sure how to confirm that

so after RH is installed all my traffic Lights etc are on RHD but cars use LHD looks odd in game hehe but there is some road mod simular to HOV mod that the textures are RHD only so i figured if i could i would convert my Trafic to RHD as well so it all looks in sync

To switch from Right to Left Hand Drive, there are two major steps.

Part one of two

1. Locate and go to the directory where you have installed SC4, usually it is C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe

2. Within this directory, you will see a folder name English, it should contain a file called SimCityLocale, if it does, you are looking at the correct folder.

3. Now rename this folder from English to UKEnglsh (not a typo!)

8. Leave it as Hexadecimal and enter 13 into the Value Data field. Click OK.

With these two major steps complete, your sims will now start driving on the Left! If you wish to switch from the Left to the Right - rename the folder to English in step 3, and enter 1 into the Value Data field in step 8 instead.

But get errors with the ingame text says the text can not be found however the basic functions that i want it does give me hehe

Incompatible versions don't fly together under most circumstances. You can check your disks for which versions you have. Mount each disk and look for the SKU file/directory on each. If they are not the same, you are out of luck. Easiest solution is to repurchase the game (Deluxe) from Steam. It comes patched up to level 640, so you won't need any patches.

With the correct use of various things you should be able to find in the omnibus, you can cause your game to be RHD or LHD. This requires a little care, but once done is done.

After that, you can start installing plugins one by one and testing each add to make sure you have a compatible set. There are lots of threads around here about that, some are in my name.

Note that if you are using a 64-bit machine, the address of part 6 changes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Maxis > SimCity 4 > 1.0
