So, I download a region of the STEX and put it in the regions folder in the SC4 directory. However when in the game and trying to load the .jpeg after I click on it nothing happens and I'm left with just a plain grassy field for a region.

Please tell me where I'm going wrong

Thanks in advance,

Omega128

if you look closely the region that you download/load should have config.bmp, region.ini and *.sc4 files. please check

There is a jpeg, a config (BMP file) and a file called 'region' (configuration settings) which was created as I tried to use it in game

this type of map set u need to re render either using sc4 itself (take longer time) or you use SC4Terraformer.1.1 or SC4Mapper.

okay, this is height map.... you need to use SC4Mapper for less headache or SC4Terraformer to re-edit terrain..... and render them.

really sorry to carry on being a pain, but raising or lowering it, no detailed landscape shows through. I made sure I open the the folder with the jpeg I want to edit in.

    Hello, Omega128.

First of all, my thanks to RICHBoyZ for helping Omega128 with his mapping problem. I certainly appreciate your "pitching in" and helping out. Thank you!

Omega128, in the future you might want to consult the How to Install a Map From the STEX article at the top of the Mapping Community Room. I do believe that this article will anwer any questions you have.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

    Vandy
