Hey, the other day I downloaded NAM and a few GLR plugins. I currently do not have any light rail in my city, but while the game was paused I constructed an elevated rail line with a number of places where it operates above roads. After completing the line, I unpaused the game and as I was finishing up some rezoning, the game crashed to desktop. I reloaded the game, did a little rezoning and saved after about 25 seconds, and it crashed again in about 5 seconds. Now whenever I load my city, it WILL crash at 5 seconds, almost as if something in the simulator is triggering it.

    Please help.

I am having something quite similar happen with GLR-in-road. I have heard that hovering pieces above stations (or vice-versa) can cause a CTD, but I made sure to not do that. In fact, the CTDs occurred when I had the default cursor (nothing selected). I wasn't anywhere near the GLR with it at the time of the CTDs. It appears merely having GLR-in-road in my city is sufficient to cause one. I have not yet tried with other forms of GLR.

A temporary solution I would suggest is to have a subway line under the road rather than el-rail above it. This will not give the same look, but it will function identically (subway and el-rail are the same network, after all).

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

What are the "few GLR plugins"? Is this the first time you've installed NAM?

Yes, for some pieces, if they come in contact with transit-enabled lots (such as stations) of the same network type, crashes can result,

Also, moving this to the Transit Networks forum.
