Hi all!!

My first post here, and can i first say what an amazing site! I have just re-discovered SC4 after a long 5 or 6 year break, and this site is filling me with awe and ambition!!

I am starting a new region to get myself back into the building lark! However, i am having some problems with a download from the STEX. I want to produce a small city tile as my power base for the region. I came across this amazing reactor HERE and thought it was one of the most realisitc i had seen. However, when I download it, and pop it into my plugin folder, it doesn't seem to work. It also has a strange file route i've not seen before: .rhr? Am i doing something wrong? Really want these in my region, so any help would be great!

First of all, welcome to Simtropolis Forums!! You'll have a lot of fun here!

I've just downloaded it again and had no problem with the file extension...

The usual procedure of installing STEX downloads is extracting all the files coming with the *.rar file in your My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. In the case of this specific BAT, the description says there are several files coming in the same download. Buildings, chimneys, water pumps and something else, you should see a dozen files when you have extracted them all. Just put them all in a subfolder inside the Plugins folder and everything should be OK. This specific BAT has a bug that prevents it of producing power when installed in a subfolder, place it directly on the Plugins folder.

Thanks for the reply - when I download it, i only see one file, called 3bfc904436505211cf05ac75210fb9b3-El_Zaporizhzhia.rar. I don't see a zip file for example! Am i doing something wrong?

You're going to need to download the WinRar [link to the official download website] program (or 7-Zip, or any other program to do this kind of stuff) in order to extact the files inside the one you've downloaded. Once you have WinRar installed, you'll see how you can execute this file and begin extrating the files inside to your Plugins folder.
