Emergency: Traffic Polls plumetting after demolition!

So I am having another emergency in my city, this time it has to do with traffic, again. Recently I replaced a short rail line, that ran straight down one of my main commercial areas, with elevated rail, and connected it to the subway system. Now, the graphs are showing that the traffic volume on the elevated rail are completely filled in red!

This has to be some sort of bug, as the traffic volume on the new elevated rail section are not that high! Could the game be mistaken and thinking that the rail line still exists there along with elevated rail?

Ever since I replaced the passenger rail, my traffic rating has gone from about 95% down to 40% and it keeps falling every month. I dont understand how changing such a small piece of my transportation network could have such consequences. I have included pictures for anyone to help me understand this situation!

If anyone has any advice, it would be great. If things dont improve I just may have to undo or retry the project.

You got any subway? Thats what the congestion data could be showing. Pretty sure it shows subway data but it has been a while since I played :)

Looks to me as if that red line describes one of the main Commercial arteries - there are a lot of big buildings along that route. I'd say that your sims like travelling by El-rail more than ordinary rail (are they R$$$?). You could try placing a secondary network along the route, like buses (or subway if you could afford it). Another possible fix might be to give the sims alternate routes to the same buildings. Hope this helps.

it could be many different things. i could be that it hasn't redrawn the map or your line is overused.

use the query tool, and destination query tool

Thanks everyone for the replies, some things I didnt think about - but at this point im pretty sure its some kind of bug. I waited over a year in the city to see if it would correct itself, but nope. My traffic score dropped to 0, and even tho every indicator said i didnt do anything that radical it sure had a huge impact on the traffic indicator. I tried undoing the damage, but eventually i just gave up and went with my backup. i have a subway system and buses, but there is just no explanation for the "congestion" that is showing up. traffic along the elevated rail line is shown as normal on one screen, and horrible on another. another strange bug is that even tho my traffic rating was dismal, it did not affect my overall mayor rating or anything else. im guessing its some kind of looping graphical bug, since i did build the elevated rail over the original passenger rail line with "overlays" on.

im just pissed that i had to rewind 5 sim years of painstaking work over something so minor. i wish there were savepoints...

anyways...everything is back to normal .....
