WINE for mac, SC4 Helper!

You guys ever wonder how to put a PC disk of sc4 onto you macs? well there is a site here:

It shows you all you need to know and the proper procedures to do it yourself.

However I do need help myself and your opinion.

Should I just buy the Mac version of sim city or do the hard way?

I've never had much luck with WINE, you may try it for yourself, but I don't know how well it will work.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with SC4 for mac. A few issues, not all custom content has nightlights, but there are some that are starting to get them. Other than that, it all works as it should.

Its just a matter of preference really.

Well, insert the first disk. It will load onto the desktop, open it and launch the installer. Then wait for it to request the second disk and you are done.

OK, I speak from experience. I installed PlayOnMac, a free WINE app. The Mac version had been awful, the textures were atrocious, it was slow, and I read that it crashed after your population got to a certain point.

PlayOnMac made a mess of my hard drive, but it did work, sorta. Crayon Physics Deluxe got a pseudo-full screen effect, but others, like I Wanna Be The Guy, didn't work. I also found out BAT didn't work.

But then I installed SC4 on Windows XP. Works great.

some little problem, I have the sc4 disk for PC not mac, so thats why I cant do it. Is there any other way than WINE? I mean I could just buy it but it is expensive for mac!

Unless you use boot camp, then, as Im aware of, there is really no other way other than the mac version. Its a bit more, but it is worth it if you get to play SC4 again.

yes I am trying to find it at the apple store I could not find it!
