Well poop.

I remember that I checked gamefaqs when I was attempting to do that, but their advice didn't work for me either.

Anyway, back to the actual topic.

Personally, I believe that Megaman is the best single video game character of all. The Mario crowd might disagree with me on this, but I think that Nintendo missed far too many opportunities for Mario's characterization.

I have a special liking for Megaman Legends (despite the troubles) precisely because it takes advantage of the opportunity to make Megaman a character rather than just a mere sprite. Battle Network accomplishes this too, but in a way that is less commiserate with the original storyline.

Battle Network is still good though. However, I had to quit playing for two reasons. One, the tiny GBA screen about makes me go blind. (Though the GBA player for Gamecube eliminates this problem!) Two, I'm not crazy about the combat system. I just couldn't get used to it.

Duke87's Megaman Battle Network 5: Team Colonel progress report:

Okay, well, I've collected all 180 standard chips, or Sfrags as the door in Nebula Hole 4 refers to them. And thus I now have the Std Compl Icon on my startups creen, along with Colonel's Head (Beating the game) and Dark Compl (Getting all 12 Dark Chips). The other thing I must do to be able to gain access to Nebula Hole 5 is Collect 40 Mfrags or Mega Chips. I currently have 36 of them, and can easily get one more. However, after that, It will prove more dufficult since the rest iof the chips I'm missing would require pulling off some really tough stunts to obtain. There are 60 Mega Chips in total. I have two of the six Gigachips, and getting a third will open another door for me. I also have some five Secret chips, which are really just 5 Mega Chips form the other version of the game (Team Protoman) obtained by trading data via a game link cable. Unfortunately, they don't count toward my Mega Chip total. I have performed 3 of the 30 possible Program Advances, something else which I'll probably work on in the future.
