is there any way to try and get it back, I guess a save file might be corrupted, I also can’t find where the saved files are on the computer

I keep on getting the same problem, I have already un-installed the game and managed to fix the problem with a dbg that worked for a couple of hours then came back, now the game crashes after every 1 hour or so and it is really annoying me to top it all off now, my city will not even load it crashes after I click to load it and It's taken me 3-4 days to build this place to half a million people and now im losing my temper with this game. I thought the bugs very supposed to be fixed have Focus just abandoned everyone out there who has the problem or have they not heard of fixing and updating the game to stop this otherwise the Christmas present I was really looking forward to is now pointless even trying to play.

Mrdazza, you can do manual saves in CXL 2011. While in the city, open the menu, click on the disquete icon - there you'll find the option. Afterwards, if the Autosafe gets corrupted, you can load a manual save from the Planet view (again the disquete icon).

I don't know if this'll help your current city, but it's good to know for the future. Also, it seems that failure to load cities is tightly connected to the general performance of the game - in other words, if you're trying to run the game on higher settings than recommendet for your machine, the risk of file corruption is greater. Try lowering graphic settings.

Guys, there have been numerous cases of save file corruption, all of them dully reported and discussed in other threads, I don't see why we need to start yet another one on the same topic. Please, in the future, before posting a problem, read the 'Technical Issues FAQ'  thread, or the other threads already posted here,  and see if your problem isn't already listed there.

And if there is no solution recorded, then you probably won't get help here, no reason to create a separate thread. Write to Focus Home Support instead.

    Thread locked.
