Working on a metro system. About done with that after I finally figured out I had to destroy the forest filler I had used before I could place stations. It has already made a difference. Then, bus lines connecting neighborhoods is next. I will post this weekend.

The city has undergone another significant transformation since our last update! Metro lines have been added, helping to ease congestion on major arteries. The bus lines have had some upgrades but remain used lightly. This will be addressed in a future update. For now, let's look at the newest parts of the city.

The city now covers a large enough area that all of it cannot be shown in one shot. Here is an areial shot showing most of the city.

Here are the metro lines. (I painted them on. Is there a way to make them show in the photo you can take or is painting them on the only way?) I should note that the maroon line going around the CBD in the lower part of the pic is not actually a complete circuit in the game. It starts in the bottom center where the two sections of CBD meet. It goes around the section on the west and meets the red line. Then it loops around the middle section of the CBD and finally goes through and around the old CBD. It does not come back around and complete the lopp though. I tried for quite some time to get it to connect but was never able to. There are cliffs starting right there and a tunnel roadway and those seem to be blocking it. I may try it again one of these days though.

The football stadium was completed.

The Hagia Sophia was also built. Behind it, a large national forest was created to combat the growth of the city.

I may experiement with some highway in this back section. I have not used them much in Cities XL because they don't seem to work well to me. But, it also seems quite unreal to have a city of 4 million people not have even one highway in it. We will see.

So far so good, I like it. I have no remarks.

The city continues to grow, although at a much slower pace. The city management has discovered the demands of the citizens have grown increasingly hard to meet. Electricity and food are increasingly expensive for residents.

The city is now home to 6.5 million people! Unemployment, for many decades at 1 or 2 %, has crept up to 4%. City leaders are discussing new ways to ease this back down without causing a huge influx of new residents.

While satisifactions remains high, it has slipped at all income levels. Elites are the only group remaining about 80% at 82. Executives are at 78%, unskilled worker are at 76% and skilled laborers are only at 71%. Efforts are being made to increase this now.

The obligatory transportation map without mass transit this time. The only change to the metro line was an added line connecting the south side suburbs to the main lines through the city. As these suburbs expand onto the Uptown Cliffs, the lines will be finalized.

Nice and wow how much people do you really need? Just kidding but im getting nervous because my city of 7.8 million is getting smaller compaered to your growth

I have one city that has filled about 2/3rds of the map and is at 8 million something. It is not built for any kind of realism though. Most everything is high density. I just wanted to see what I could cram in.

Sadly, it appears I have had my first experience with a city crashing and not being able to re-open. Platouenia crashed this evening and I have been unable to reopen the city. I was narly finished too. I had connected most of the major areas by metro and was filling in the hillsides on the south side cliff. The population was at 8.4 million. The sceen that loads said the unemployment was 0% but I dont know if that is accurate. I know skilled class had dipped in approval to 69%. And, I seemed to be having trouble building enough fire houses, strangely.
