A question about Buying CXL 2011

I am going to upgrade my old CXL 2009 to 2011 on the CXL website it tells me I get a special offer that I get CXL2011 of half price, hear is the question

 

at the moment I don't have CXL 2009 installed onto my computer and I tried to install it but it doesn’t work for some reason, and I don't relay wont to wast my time finding out why ether, dose that download just update the old 2009 version or dose it give me a new copy of the game?

All you just need is your registration key from Cities XL (original). All it does is give you 50% off CXL2011, which is a complete new version of the game, and not an upgrade or add on. You can only get the deal off from the official site's shop. And you might as well get it from there while our dollar is par with the US dollar.

In short, no, you don't need the CXL 2009 installation to run 2011 - it is a standalone game.

All you need, as ahseroo said, is the CD key, and that only for the 50% discount.
