Hi guys I recently purchased Sim City 4 from best buy. I can make an ok sized city with 20,000 people but I have no clue on how to make the trains, subways, or buses work. Not to sound childish but how can I make my city look like the box?

To make trains,etc work, you just plop the station and make sure it has road access. Are you talking about UDI mode?

I have no clue, I just bought the game for 9.99 for the regular Sim City 4.

I don't think the regular simcity 4 has UDI. I better check/

Basically, to get Sims using mass transit, you will need to be sure there is a departure stop from where sims live and an arrival stop to where they have jobs, and Sims can get to and from those stops. In addition, these routes need to be "useful" - by that, they should be more direct than other routes so that they will appear faster.

You might check out some of the articles in the Omnibus on transportation. However, I notice you mentioned that you have the regular SC4 version. Please keep in mind that much of the content and discussion on this site is for SC4 Rush Hour or Deluxe, so some things may not apply in your case.

You need to register on the EA site and apply the update for your version.  It has several bug fixes.  If you expect to do the kinds of things in the City Journals, you will need the Rush Hour expansion pack and some more site updates.

Much of the material available on this and other sites require the Rush Hour expansion.
