Getting rid of garbage without landfill

Hello guys

I am aware about the Radical Ordinance Mod, that reduce entirely the amount of trash in the city, but the problem is: it change all ordinances as well. I really like the classic way to play, with no BATs or Lots except some modes like NAM, Bridge Height and industry quadrupler. As my cities keep growing, the amount of garbage increase, and more landfill is needed. It can be controlled trading and recycling, I know, but honestly I dont like dirty industries or landfills or anything similar =D Ive decided to get rid of it, if possible. Is there any mod able to take care of all garbage at all?

Thanks.

Try the Black Hole Waste Management Corp BAT. I know you don't want a BAT but it could be what you are looking for.  Or not.

thanks for the reply. Well... yes, I would prefer a mod but, to tell the truth, better a 1x1 lot than a big field of garbage.

There are plenty of garbage management lots in STEX. I personally like PEG's UT Plasma Gasification Plant and Garbage Docks.

I tend to use the docks first until the city uses them to capacity and I have enough tax revenue to pay for the Plasma Gasification plants. They're very clean, and produce power that you can then sell to neighboring cities. Since they look and act like a High Tech industrial lot, they don't have detrimental desirability effects on adjacent zones.

I don't think there's any such thing as a mod to prevent garbage, but lots of ways to deal with it. There are a couple mods that speed up the decay rate for landfills, meaning a smaller landfill can handle more garbage. Here's one of them.

There are also plenty of lots with high capacity to deal with it, some realistic, some not so much. Pegasus has garbage docks, which look great and are a very realistic way to handle garbage. He also has garbage chutes that just dump garbage off the edge of the map. Realistic? On a round planet, no. But the sims live in Columbus' worst nightmare. If our world were flat we'd probably dump garbage off the edge of it, too.

There's even the default waste-to-energy plant. Reduce its funding to zero and it will burn garbage for free. Well, if you don't count the gargantuan amount of air pollution it spits out. There are other similar incinerators available though, some with less pollution, higher cost, etc.... If all else fails you could easily grab the best-looking (or smallest and least visible) one, and tweak it yourself to have high capacity, no cost, and no pollution.

I don't know of any mods, but if I have a shoreline I use PEGs garbage docks.  They fit in well with my usual costal designs.  When they run out of capacity, I use the Black Hole lot.  It removes all the garbage at a moderate cost.  It is good enough so that you can accept garbage from adjacent cities with no problems.  It is effectively a cheat, but I work on appearance of the city and dislike doing too much micromanagement.  I have a couple of other cheat lots that relieve water and power concerns as well, without resorting to things like howdryIam.  You still have to lay pipes and power lines.  If you are interested in these look on the stex under N_O_Body (an old alter ego of mine).

I would use the plasma Gasification plant because it is entirely viable scientifically and is actually in development now!
