SimCity 4 Deluxe does not start... again and again....

Hi!

Whenever I try to start SC4, i can see the Splashlogo with the Bridge, but then, nothing happens. Always.

After the Installation, i could play it. The other day, so after a new computer Start (as like as a reboot) it never started again.

I have all Patches and updates and only the NAM. Without NAM, it does not work, too...

I've tried a uninstall, registry cleaning, new install, with patches, without patches, install it into another folder... but nothing... always just the Splash logo.

So i looked to our "Apps" folder und found an Exception Report. (Found in the end of this post)

ntdll.dll?? Maybe you can help?

System:

P4 2,66GHz

1024DDr1-Ram

WinXP SP3

ATi 9600XT 128MB AGP

Enough Free Space

Note: One year ago, i had a lot of plugins and the game worked. but now.... nothing...

Thanks for any help,

LOD!

This is happening with me as well. I even have a thread about it below yours. Except in the case of my game, the disc isn't even running so no game. How does this happen?

@AmericanInfantry: Yep, but i thought your problem is quite different because you seem to have more than ONE Cpu, so i opened a new thread. but the same problem.

@Baller23: Maybe, but... the CD is inside... i will try it now with my cd burner and.. wait... nope, nothing... T_T

Well, you have specified Win XP SP3.  It sounds like the same problem I have outlined in the other thread for Linux.  Some fix you have received has disabled the IPC so that the program can't find the CD after the initial load.  I'll bet if you look with the task manager you will find that that temp process is/was running before the crash.  It is the guy that looks for the drive.

If you have a restore point before your last update, back off and try it.

If that process is still running after the crash, kill it.  You should be able to restart after that.

I have the same problem. CD is in the tray, the SC4 Process begins, then stops, with no message. I have the same "Exception code: 0xC0000235 (-1073741259) NtClose was called on a handle that was protected from close via NtSetInformationObject." files popping up in my Apps folder.  I am also running Windows XP SP 3.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still do not have any luck.
