I'm new to the game and found the farming job multiplier so thought it would be a good way to get the farmer market and state fair but even though I have met all the criteria I'm not getting the award. Can you not do it this way, do you have to meet the farming jobs criteria by having loads of farms instead?

Welcome, i spose easiest way to get the 'farmers market' and the 'state fair' is when in game mode on the selected cty press 'CRTL' and 'X' this will bring the cheat box up and then simply type 'you don't deserve it' in and press enter and vola but that is cheating.

I think you would be better off just building lots of farms, and letting the number of people working on them grow.  I often use farms to kick off a new region, but I usually don't grow to the point of getting the Oklahoma! rewards.

As far as using one of the debugging commands could be considered cheating, I use the moolah command all the time.  To unlock this one, you need the extra cheats .dll described in one of the initial sticky threads in this list.  I have found that if you run on hard level and want to get anything done in any decent time, you need considerably more than 100,000 Simoleons for openers unless you run in Turtle and go very slowly for a long time.  So I give new cities a grant of 2,000,000 Simoleons for openers and then take it back when they have a treasury larger than that as it grows.  "Thou shalt not bind the mouths of the kine that tread the grain."

pretty soon with no option your sims will give you the farmers market and the state fair as they will all be employed with farms

Generally when I meet the farm jobs and population needed for those rewards on a new city my mayor rating needs to be improved, just building 1 or 2 parks gives the necesary boost and I end up also getting the 1st house of worship and the 1st cementery.

However as I don't usually go for the state fair, I feel it's easier to get the farmer market with the UDI mission Farmer's got vermin, available when you build a landing strip. You just need some population and a few large farms (the mission won't spawn if the farms are too small).

And if you think it's money lose (20k for the strip + 3 to4k for running it the months required for it to completely build up), it isn't, as you can also do the Dr. Vu mission on the other plane to get 70k simoleons.

HTH.

thanks for the replies I guess the obvious answer is as using the job multiplier is cheating just cheat any way 4.gif. Anyway I have removed the multiplier and I'm trying to do it without cheating but my farms keep spawning as pumpkin farms which is annoying. U drive it mission might be work a crack.

it should be noted, that the number of jobs listed in the main farm building (ie pumpkin farms) is not the number of jobs that the entire farm has. Each tile of farm employs x number of sims, regardless of what the anchor building says.

I finally managed to get the farmer market by doing the flying thing, even though I had over 300 farming jobs it was getting silly. I had to start a new city though as the one I was originally using I kept getting offered the flying mission but when I click on it it wasn't available for some reason. I'm just getting the hang of things before I start trying to mod anything but I like the look of the rabbit farm.
