Okay, I did a little bit of research, and from what I gathered, the hawk that was sitting on my windowsill was a member of the Eurasian subspecies of the Hen Harrier - the North American subspecies is known as the Northern Harrier, or the Marsh Hawk. According to Wikipedia, Sochi is right on the border between their summer and winter ranges, which de facto means that we have them year-round.

So crazy thing happened yesterday, I got the mail and there was a letter from Richard Murdock

He sent me a thank you letter and video for donating to his campaign, and he is sending me a lawn sign, not that having his name in my lawn is going to do any good since no one here can vote for him, but I'll be the only one with the sign in my state so that is cool.

His video he sent me.

I was really shocked cause I wasn't expecting a reply, expectantly for someone who is out of state!

I went to the last day of the Puyallup fair today. It was very fun. This King County fair is better than the stupid Washington State fair up north.

Wreck It Ralph does indeed look interesting.

I expect I will spot a lot of things they "got wrong", though. As it is, I already complain that his sprite face in the artwork has too many colors.

There are five colors there, plus black and white for a total of seven. An 8 bit system, with its accompanying palette limitations, should not have more than three different colors on one sprite... maybe it could have five if two of them are black and white. But seven is too many.

I'm pretty sure I've heard EL&P's stuff. My dad listened to a wide variety of music when I was growing up, and I always surprise people in older age brackets than me with my knowledge. Youtube has helped drudge up a whole heap of previously-buried music memories.

First week of school and I am already overwhelmed. I am keeping ahead in both of my classes (Integral Calculus and Introductory Physics) by reading my chapters a day in advanced and starting my homework the day its assigned. However, both are very difficult.
