not sure if this is a bug/glitch..when placed down on a location they don't show up. am i supposed to wait for them to be built or no?   parks gardens beaches skateparks etc

Check your graphics settings.  Updating the game with the official fixes sets them to default.  You probably want most, if not all, on high.

Im having the same problem.Not sure if its a bug or not.Ive put some custom content.Some of them work some of them wont show up even if im not missing a dependency.For example the Beijing National Stadium doesnt have a dependncy but still it wont show up when i build it.Also some default parks and recreational places that came with the game wont show up aswell...anybody knows whats wrong ?

That lot has 15 elements.  Did you follow the installation instructions exactly?  I have a feeling that only the Chinese/English .dat files are optional and that you must choose one or the other.  The rest go into your plugins.

If there was ever an argument for an installer, this lot surely makes the argument.  Only an experienced BATter or old Simtropolitan hand would get it right.

I just checked.  there are no installation instructions, so I assume you shotgun the whole lot.  Will test now.

However, it works just fine for me in my sandbox.  You need all 15 files in your plugins, and you should be organized about it.

After this:  My further testing show that you omit either the English Language or the Chinese Language .dat files.  I don't know if there is a difference between the two Chinese files or if both are needed together.  If you have all the files, the menu title and the query panel are upwhacked.

You should check your plugins and see if you have added any that may contain new textures or props.  You may have overridden some of the standard ones.  I always suggest that each new plugin should be tested in a sandbox.

This just now happened to me...

I just downloaded the updates for downloadable buildings to light up at night. When I plop parks, plazas and such, trees, benches and the like dont show up but previously plopped parks and stuff still look the same..

EDIT:

Last night the game was fine so I tried removing the downloads I made afterwards and no change. >=[

I also noticed its not just parks and stuff its doing it too. Its landmarks, public buildings and even other downloadable content. For example, I downloaded a clean air building and sections of the building doesn't appear or parking lots of builings dont appear. This is really getting on my nerves >=/
