Metro Line depth issues

As the topic suggests, I have noticed an issue when in the tutorial (yet to test it in an actual city) that when you are creating Metro Lines, if you adjust the depth of the track (to go under a valley for example) you loose the ability to place the metro stations. You can only lay the track and connect it to already existing stations.

Has anyone else noticed this in their own cities, or is it a quirk of the tutorial?

::No mods installed on a fresh install of Cities XL 2011::

EDIT:: Just confirmed that it occurs in normal cities as well

Prometheus, you can only place mtro stations at a certain depth. Going bellow or above that depth prevents placement - this is not a bug, nor a quirk, it's a designer's decision which you have to learn to live with (at least for now).

You can change depth as much as you want, and even create above-ground tracks, but whenever you decide to place a station, you have to go down to the necessary depth when the station blueprint will appear.

It is theoretically possible to have at grade (on ground not elevated) rail stations but because of the system, it would be virtually impossible to have above grade stations.

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

Current Metro stations allow a range of underground depths below the stations (otherwise, placement would be very difficult), at grade stations would allow only one level because they would have a platform that could not move (they might also allow underground), but the current system allows the player to adjust the height so much that it is impossible for a set platform on a station to accommodate all the heights and it would be difficult to set the height to any one elevation precisely. The only way would be if the raised rail/metro line could connect to the set height with some snapping or something but that would be difficult to program and would look odd in most cases. There would also be the case of the change of elevation being too much (like was posted in the start of this thread) to properly connect/snap to the platform.

You're forgetting that there is no separate building of the track - you build the stations already connected to the track. You're also forgetting that the current stations also can't have different depths - only at one depth it is possible to build a station, with the necessary ground connections. Why shouldn't the same be possible with above-ground stations?

They'll just set one definite height where the necessary connections with the ground level would be possible - visually, as well as physically. Above-ground tracks already need a line clear of buildings, they just need to work on the connection with the road. I don't think it's impossible.
