CXL slow building tools

 Whenever I click a building tool, the game lags for half a second. Do other people experience this too? 

To clarify: it happens when i click for example, a road, or a zoning tool, or a specific building.. Is this normal??

I experience it too. Everything you do has lag like that, wich is quite annoying since you have to click quite alot if you want to switch between a specific type of road and building for example. Also i have a fast pc, so thats not the issue.

My pc is a C2D e8400 with crossfire 4870 and 4 gig ram on win7. So that should be more than enough. I Have CXL 2011 installed on a SSD. could that have anything to do with it?

If you have the Steam version of the game then visit the official forums and download the 'temporary steam fix' from the technical forums there. It is reported to make the GUI in the steam version as responsive as it is in the Metaboli version of Cities XL 2011.

Same issues here with the UI, I wasn't aware of the steam patch prior to reading this topic so thanks for that info, I'll check it out.

Also I dunno if its related to the UI but I get a random jerk every 4 or 5 seconds. It's annoying when scrolling around and suddenly it leaps and I'm left somewhere random on the map with a completely different rotation angle and lost. It's pretty consistent and doesn't seem to be related to what part of a map I'm looking at at the time etc, it's more like some background thing on a timer that runs every few seconds.

Just gave it a try - makes a huge difference seems to fix all the performance issues I was having

Not using Steam, but any lag is frustrating, and I have it. I wish (hope) for a mod (or patch upgrade) that either makes the top-level build buttons jump directly to the last used setting (eg Industry -> Commercial -> High Density if that was the last used.) . For many purposes, with my style of building that would remove a substantial number of the lags I, personally, experience.
