Mods and Custom buildings...

CXL has now been released, but I cant make ANY mods from CXL 2009 working (even the ones that are supposed to work with 2011) And why didnt focus release some kinda easy way to import custom buildings like MC did with City Life? Thats the only thing that is gonna keep this game alive. Just take a look at Sim City 4.

Right now CXL 2011 is like a downgrade from 2009 because I lost all the mods. Come on focus, you know this just as good as anyone. And a few more lot sizes would be nice, I know there already is other sizes than the square lots (the park, high school, landmarks and blueprints) ... Just a tip... Even tho its pretty obvious.

Did you put them in the right place (focus.../paks)? Did you use mods made exclusively for Cities XL 2011 (the original 2009 mods use a different form than 2010)?

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Yep I put them in the paks folder, first I tried many mods that was supposed to work with 2011, then I removed all but the no pollution mod, but still. Game crashes at startup. So I removed that one too. Now it works... with no mods.

Thanks alot for replies, The problem was me being impatient. When I try to start the game with mods it "crashes" but when I click "wait until program responds" (dunno how to translate it from norwegian) It starts 4.gif
